Red Drift Roses are low growing groundcovers that have a naturally flowing, cascading appearance. Clusters of red flowers with a traditional rose shape will appear in the mid spring through fall. Fully mature shrubs will reach approximately 1.5" H x 2.5" W and requires very little maintenance. Being as low maintenance as they are, Drift Roses will grow well in most soil conditions, but they prefer moist, well-drained soil with a pH of 6 to 7. Make sure not to overwater as this may lead to root rot issues. As most roses do Drift Roses thrive in full sun and need atleast 6+ hours of direct sunlight daily from spring to early fall. While Drift roses don't require pruning, a good trim will help the plant become denser and promote growth. Drift roses should be pruned in the later winter or early spring once a year to about a six to eight-inch height. Since these are groundcover roses they are shorter in height compared to traditional rose bushes, but still just as beautiful. They can be used as container plantings near entryways, border edgings or grown similarly to ivy by allowing it to climb a trellis or wall.
